After a wild few weeks of eclipse energy shaking things loose, September invites a gentler kind of momentum — the same "good enough for now" grace we're all reaching for at drop-off lines and packed lunches. This issue pairs a back-to-school pep talk on letting go with a look at Virgo season's steady, action-oriented energy, plus a little wisdom from the asteroid Hygieia on caring for yourself before you're running on empty.
Inside, we're talking about picking one thing to let go of this back-to-school season, why "getting organized" doesn't have to mean getting it all right, and the importance of caring for yourself before you hit a wall. Think of it as permission to tend to the details without losing the plot — for you and for the people you're shuttling to soccer practice.
HEATHER READS THE STARS
Virgo's gifts of precision, humble service, and self-care take center stage as we launch new projects. With Mars and the Sun backing this moon, it's an especially action-oriented time to get things done.
Hello All, By the time you are reading this we will have passed through the massive eclipse cycle. The full solar eclipse in Leo and the finale of the Pisces Virgo eclipse cycle a partial lunar eclipse at the end of August. Now that our world has been shaken up a bit, we are ready for the careful tending of Virgo season. What I love about Virgo is that it is Spirituality in Action. You are no longer just dreaming and visioning, or talking about what you are visioning, you are breaking down the vision into small digestible action steps and then doing them.

A Little More Grace
Back to school. We made it. And also… lunches. Forms. Sports. Carpools. Homework. The return of the 7:51am WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES?! September can come with an unspoken expectation that it’s time to GET IT TOGETHER. But transitions take energy. For our kids, and for us, too. Back-to-school requires some grit. But I think it also calls for a whole lot of grace. So here’s my invitation: Pick something to let go of. Give yourself a little grace. Let dinner be quesadillas. Again. Let the laundry live in baskets. Say no to one more activity. Buy the school lunch. Decide what can be good enough for a little while.
And then—this part matters—try not to immediately fill the space you just made.
Let some of that time go toward connection.
Sit on the edge of your teenager’s bed for five minutes. Look your kid in the eyes when they’re telling you the very long story you only half understand. For the littler ones especially, remember that starting school, changing classrooms, leaving you each morning—it’s a lot. They can use one more beat of your steady, loving eye contact. One small moment of your undivided attention.
And maybe you can use one, too.
