When Someone You Love Has Cancer, and You're Far Away
Distance can make a cancer diagnosis feel doubly hard for them, and for you. The feeling of helplessness is real. But there are ways to show up from afar.
Donate blood in their honor. Many cancer patients need blood products during treatment. It's a thoughtful, practical act of love. Telling them you did it matters.
Do good deeds and share them. When someone is deep in healing, hearing that their life is still rippling kindness out into the world can be profoundly uplifting. Do something good, then tell them they're the reason. Distance doesn't mean absence. Sometimes the most tender support travels the furthest.
